Modern Architecture & Development (MAD) is a full service architecture, real estate development, and property management firm. We take clients and projects from the very beginning through to the management of the finished properties. Allowing us to provide a complete and total package, where all a client has to worry about is which piece of land they want to buy. We then take it from there! We also offer each service area as individual stand alone options as well, so that our services can be tailored to your needs. Matthew Clapper is the Founder & CEO of MAD. He is a licensed Architect and holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Kansas, a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University in NYC, as well as an Advanced Professional Certificate in Real Estate Development from NYU and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
Before starting MAD he worked in the NYC offices of Perkins Eastman and Greenberg Farrow, as well as the Paris, France office of Ibos and Vitart. He has served nationally as an AIA SFx (Small Firm Exchange) Regional Representative for 5 years, and its 2021 Chair, and is currently on the AIA/AGC Joint Committee fostering relationships between contractors and architects. He also serves on the local AIA chapter Regional & Urban Design and SFx groups .
